What Are You Thankful For?

Posted in A Writer's Life, Just For Fun! with tags , , , , , , , , , on 11-26-2010 by jeffreymartinsnovels

Thanksgiving. What a great way to kick off the holiday season. A day devoted to being thankful for the blessings we have in our lives.

This year, I have a lot to be thankful for. I’ve got a supportive family, a rewarding job, and a comfortable home. And this year has been great for me as a writer, too: I’ve had a few short stories published and, most recently, a novel.  I’ve also been blessed with a wonderful reader base of fans and bookstores that believe in my work. Not much more that a working writer could ask for!

As you heat up your left over turkey today or head out to sales at the mall, just remember that gratitude should be year round. So what are you thankful for?

St. Nick is a great guy. He’s generous, thoughtful, and always knows exactly what we want. But if an iPod Touch or a Jeffrey Martin novel is on your wish list this year, you don’t have to wait until December 25.

From now until December 6, you can have a lot of fun by completing my scavenger hunt. It’s easy. You read the clue list, then go online to find each item or answer a question. Then, send me your response ( All correct responses go into a drawing for an iPod Touch loaded with my books and stories on December 9 (winner announced December 10). Want the details or are you ready to begin? Click here (!

And if you can’t wait to read the stories, remember…you can always buy 3:16 in the print book here and the ebook here.

Good luck, and happy hunting!

Happy Veterans Day and Operation Ebook Drop

Posted in A Writer's Life, Just For Fun!, New Releases with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on 11-11-2010 by jeffreymartinsnovels

Today, we talk about Veterans Day and what it personally means to me. First, for all the Veterans out there, this is your day. I know the sacrifices given to keep America safe, and kudos to my fellow brothers and sisters in  arms (politically correct you see…lol.)

Okay, as most my fans know or should know, I was in the armed forces, and served in the United States Marine Corps.  Yes, a few good men and women (Yes, politically correct again.) I spent six years in the Corps, and two of them  were spent roaming around in the sand. You all know what I mean. So, during  my spurts of “down” time, I spent most of it gobbling up any reading material at my disposal. A wonderful novel kept my mind busy enough to not always focus on the worries of  where I was and what impending doom was around the corner.

It’s no accident some of my characters in my recent works have some military background, and I intend to keep creating  these types of protagonists/antagonists because it’s a part of me and my experiences.

With that in mind, there is a program for all of the armed service members who are overseas and don’t have access to your local Barnes and Noble or Borders. Operation Ebook Drop is a great program where the troops can enjoy a great book by a multitude of authors through the modern technology of e-book readers. I am fortunate to be a part of this, as my novels are available to the troops for their reading pleasure (the latest novel should be up soon, so you can check it out the deets!) I will continue to support the program and would hope if you know someone fighting in a foreign land, and they enjoy a good book, that you will pass along the info. So, I will leave you for now, but again I want to wish all my fellow Veterans out there a GREAT VETERANS DAY!!

Posted in Just For Fun!, New Releases with tags , , , , , , , , , on 11-5-2010 by jeffreymartinsnovels

Today is THE day! It’s the official release of my latest novel, 3:16. This is a picture of the bookmarks I had printed that I’m giving out to readers (click on it to print a full size version). To celebrate the release of the book, I have a few more surprises in store for you.

First, watch for a website devoted to 3:16. Lots of fun in store for it!

Also, there is a great give away in store for readers. Monday, you will see details for a virtual scavenger hunt based on my books and stories. The prize? An iPod Touch loaded with my ebooks.

We have some great folks working with us for distribution. The book and ebook will be available through online stores, including Amazon. Additionally, you will start seeing it in the traditional brick-and-mortar bookstores in the next few weeks.

If you can’t wait to get your hands on a copy–and I know you can’t–you can purchase them directly from the printer that my press uses. You can buy the print book here and the ebook here.

Thank you to my family, friends, and wonderful fans for your encouragement and support. Enjoy the book!
